What is globalisation? When did the globalisation process begin? What kind of economic, political, ecological and cultural processes are at play?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has initiated a series of translations of books which deal with various aspects of globalisation – the Mundus series, published by Pax Forlag. This seminar will introduce the third book in the series: Robert B. Marks’ book, The Origins of the Modern World.

Gry Larsen, political adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs

Robert B. Marks, Author of The Origins of the Modern World

Jarle Simensen, professor emeritus, University of Oslo
Camilla Brautaset, associate professor, University of Bergen

Helge Jordheim, The Norwegian Non-fiction Writers and Translators Association

The seminar is arranged by The Norwegian Non-Fiction Writers and Translators Association (NFF) in association with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), and is part of the MFA project Refleks – globalisation and national interest. It is the first of several seminars based on the Mundus series – a cooperation project between the MFA and the Pax Publishing House aimed at making international literature on globalisation issues available to a broad Norwegian audience.

Seminaret vil foregå på engelsk.
