La vida de Estela | Filmscreening
The film Verdades Verdaderas (Nicolás Gil Lavedra, 2011) narrates the story of Mrs. Estela Barnes de Carlotto, human rights activist and president of the Association of Grandmothers of “Plaza de Mayo”, aimed at the search of children and grand-children of the so-called “disappeared” (people still reported missing since the last military dictatorship in Argentina between 1976 and 1983).
The film will be presented by the Director of the Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Argentine Republic, Ambassador Federico Villegas Beltrán, after a few introductory words by the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the Kingdom of Norway, H. E. Mr. Juan Manuel Ortiz de Rozas. Following the screening of the film, Mrs. Estela Barnes de Carlotto, her daughter Claudia Carlotto (Chief Executive of the National Committee for the Right to an Identity-CONADI), and one of the more than 100 recovered grandchildren will comment the film and share with the public their personal experiences.
The film will be screened in Spanish with English subtitles.
