Literary Prison Gala
With readings, food and music
In Burhan Sönmez’s novel Istanbul, Istanbul, the inmates imagine a bulging mezze spread and glasses filled with raki. This evening we let the novel decide the menu when we invite you to a literary gala with live music, readings and mezze. Just like the prisoners, the audience can leave the dark reality outside for a while, and let conversations, meetings and stories provide hope and creativity.
Several of this year’s guests will participate in the program. The music is by Rolf-Erik Nystrøm, Nils Økland and Kouame Sereba, performing excerpts from their new release The oriental winds of the baroque, a musical cooperation that emerged during the 2014 Saladin Days.
Tickets: 250 NOK including food and entertainment.
