Matomo Analytics

Litteraturhuset.no uses Matomo Analytics (formerly Piwik) to gather information when you visit our website. Matomo Analytics is a "privacy-first" solution designed to perform website analysis while preserving visitor anonymity and privacy.

Matomo Analytics is developed to comply with strict privacy laws such as GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, LGPD, and PECR. By using Matomo, we ensure that all collected data remains private and is owned by us. Matomo offers advanced privacy protections, including an opt-out mechanism for users who prefer not to be tracked, configuration options for data storage of raw data and aggregated reports, IP address anonymization, and respect for DoNotTrack settings.

We configure Matomo to avoid processing personal information or personally identifiable information and set shorter expiration dates for tracking cookies. Our Matomo implementation also disables visit logs and visitor profiles, and we do not track users across multiple websites unless explicitly enabled.

Matomo can be used without requiring user consent, enhancing privacy by not following visitors over extended periods. We are committed to respecting the privacy of our users and customers, and Matomo Analytics aligns with this commitment.
