Connecting to the Guest Printer – Windows

Connect to the open wifi network Litteraturhuset before you start (not Skribent). Open the link and follow the instructions that are described and illustrated below:

Picture 1: Click Accept and choose Run/Kjør. Installation will automatically begin. If “Run” is not available, choose “Save”, and open the file from the Downloads folder.

Picture 2: Click Agree/Godta. Program will begin searching for the printer on the network.

Picture 3: If it doesn’t find it, click Ser du ikke skriveren?/Cannot find printer? at the bottom left.

Picture 4: Type in the IP-adress «192.168.99.46» and click Connect/Kople til.

Picture 5: The printer «Versalink B605» will show. Click Install/Hurtiginstaller.

Picture 6: The computer will install needed software and try to communicate with the printer. This may take a while.

Picture 7: The installation is completed. Click Done/Ferdig. If you are asked to install an app called Xerox Picture Devices (or similar), this is not necessary.

The printer is now called “192.168.99.46 PS”, follow the instructions below to change the name to something more comprehensible.

 

How to change the printer’s name:

Click on the search bar next to the start button, on the bottom left side of your screen.

Click on “192.168.99.46 PS”, and click “manage”.

Click on “Printer properties” on the left hand side.

Change the name of the printer from “192.168.99.46 PS” to “Writer’s loft” or something else you find understandable. Click OK.
