How can men and women work better together for gender equality?
CARE Norway invites you to a global seminar on how to better engage men for women’s rights and gender equality.
Gender equality is not a women’s issue. Equal opportunities for men and women carry the hope of a safer, healthier and more prosperous world for all. CARE and other actors have experience in engaging men around the world. What can be learnt and which actions should be enhanced in the future?
From the programme:
Tone Skogen, Jonas Gahr Støre, Kjell Magne Bondevik and Thorvald Stoltenberg: State Secretary of MFA and three former Ministers of Foreign Affairs meet for a panel discussion.
Dr. Michael Kimmel: Author, sociologist and one of the world’s leading experts on masculinities and gender.
Edouard Munyamaliza: Executive Secretary of Rwanda Men’s Resource Center (RWAMREC), an NGO working to engage men for gender equality in Rwanda.
CARE will also arrange a workshop on engaging men Tuesday December 8th. The workshop will consist of three parallel sessions: Engaging men for prevention of gender based violence, engaging men for women’s participation in decision making processes and engaging men for women’s economic participation.
