This international conference gathers renowned international scholars on Saudi Arabia from a range of academic disciplines in order to provide a broad analysis of how Saudi Arabia is responding to challenges rising before the Kingdom in the wake of the Arab Uprisings. How is Saudi Arabia affected by the turbulence, what measures have been taken, and to what extent are responses viable and fit to serve regime-stability in the longer term? The Saudi model will be explored from the perspective of contemporary political and economic dynamics. The legal and institutional system of Saudi Arabia and its potential for reform will be assessed, and the regional dynamics and role of the Kingdom will be considered. The overall perspective of the conference is to assess the potentials for adaptability to contemporary challenges within the current Saudi system.
