Meet the American activist Matthew Johnson and hear him talk about the present movements for justice in US. Matthew has been engaged in organizing against the Iraq War, the prison industrial complex, gender-based violence, and other progressive causes the last 10 years. Recently he co-edited the book Trumpism: The Politics of Gender in a Post-Propitious
America. After an introduction there will be time and space for questions and discussions.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Matthew Johnson holds an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies from Hacettepe University (Turkey) and a BA in Journalism from the University of Maryland, where he began his activism organizing against the Iraq War, the prison industrial complex, gender-based violence, and other progressive causes. He is co-author of the 2018 book Trumpism: The Politics of Gender in a Post-Propitious America and has published articles on gender, restorative justice, and social movements, such as the Occupy Movement. He has also served as an educator in a variety of contexts.
