Odebrecht, the company that once was considered a national pride and a symbol of Brazil’s emergence as a global industrial power, has been found to be behind some of the largest corruption scandals in recent history.  The revelation of corruption scandals involving Odebrecht has led to the incarceration of a number of business leaders and officials (including former heads of state) and forced politicians in many countries from their positions.  How was Odebrecht operating? What has been the impact on governments? And what can we learn from this to prevent future scandals?

In this breakfast seminar the Peruvian political scientist Francisco Durand will talk about the work that led ti the publication of his book: “Odebrecth: la empresa que capturaba gobiernos” (Odebrecth: the company that captured governments).
