Polish-Norwegian Encounters
Reports from Language Research
How do we best facilitate for our children to become multilingual? How do Polish and Norwegian colleagues interact in their workplaces? What characterizes the communication between Polish doctors and Norwegian-speaking patients? How does it feel to learn Norwegian when you already know Polish? What impressions do Poles and Norwegians share about each other? On occasion of the International Mother Language Day, we have brought together linguists from three different research projects to shed light on encounters between Polish and Norwegian, both in the family and in the workplace. We also get a visit from the author Ewa Sapiezynska, who has written about her experiences in the book “Jeg er ikke polakken din” (‘I’m not your Pole’).
Detailed program will appear on the MultiLing webpage. You are all welcome!
