The Norwegian Network for Harmful Practices, The Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) and other partners, invite you to mark the International Day for Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
As the World Health Organisation prepares to release updated Guidelines on female genital mutilation (FGM) we take a look at the role of health professional in the prevention and management of FGM. Health workers are essential in providing treatment and care to girls and women whu have undergone FGM, however, they also have an important role in preventing the practice. Health professionals, together with civil society organisations can be influential agents of change in the road to eliminating FMG.
The practice of Female Genital Mutilation is global and must be taken seriously in all countries. Join us as we look at the approaches used in the context of international development programs, as well as here in Norway.
