The rate of ADHD diagnoses has increased in recent years, but there remain questions about the validity of such diagnoses and the support available. While attention and ADHD have long been major research focuses in psychology, they are increasingly of interest to philosophers.
This panel discussion will raise central questions about attention and ADHD. What does research on ADHD reveal about how we relate to attention as a society? What forms and styles of attention are valued, and which are not? How do aspects of contemporary society facilitate or hinder attention for individuals with ADHD and more generally?
The event will bring together:
- philosopher, public speaker, and ADHD coach Roberta Locatelli
- doctor, psychiatrist, and journalist Charlotte Lunde
- author, lecturer, and SLAM!Poet Martine Næss Johansen
- psychologist and advisor at ADHD Norge Lucie Glede Collett
with philosopher Drew Johnson (affiliated with GoodAttention) as moderator.
